Africans in Partnership Against AIDS (APAA)

Africans in Partnership Against AIDS (APAA), is a community-based, Canadian non-profit charitable organization serving the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In 1993, APAA was established by members of the African community in response to the increased need for services intended to assist Africans living with HIV/AIDS. APAA was incorporated in 1994.

Africans in Partnership Against AIDS (APAA), is committed to the provision of HIV/AIDS education in a linguistically and culturally sensitive context. APAA believes that a supportive environment is essential to the well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs), as well as to the well-being of their partners, families and friends.

APAA believes in the health and dignity of people living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs), recognizing the difficulties that African people face when they are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. APAA continues to respond to an increasing number of requests for practical and emotional support from a diverse clientele, but especially from people living with HIV/AIDS within African communities.
